Development Blog 2

A lot of stuff happened these past 6 weeks. from getting assigned teams to just finishing up green light presentations there was a lot of work to be done.

We had a total of 5 sprints to create 3 prototypes and choose one to present. By and far the greatest of the sprints was the final one. each member of the team came together to dedicate an immense amount of work(minimum 10 hours each) in order to get our most complex prototype to green light. We finally hit a stride of consistent work meetings and communication in order to pump out a lot more than what we would normally put out. Previous sprints we would so the vast majority of the work individually and just showing off progress during short meetings or daily scrums. this week we had 3 work meetings to ensure that everyone was working towards a unified goal. We saw and understood that with our current man power the best we could do was push our concept to its limit and sell that.

As a sound designer there was very little I could do for our build other than implement the sounds and create a music track that could add to our concept. Even though I was a sound designer I filled the roll of a system designer to help flesh out our mechanics and it really helped push our idea just that much further. Moving forward I hope that I can become even better at pivoting to different positions based on what needed when. In My opinion We pulled it off quite well, here’s to hero fodder moving on and many more blog posts about it.
